| Abstract Cerebellar infarctions are mostly caused by the vertebral artery dissection and/or occlusion which generally may result in death if early diagnosis and treatment are not performed urgently. Posterior inferior cerebellar and superior cerebellar arteries are the most commonly affected arterial territories secondary to vertebral artery abnormalities. Symptoms and signs may not always be specific to suggest cerebellar infarction and may be overlooked. Late diagnosis may result in catastrophic complications or even in death. Computerised tomography in early stages generally does not show satisfactory appearance so that misdiagnosis is likely. In this paper, we present 2 consecutive patients with the left cerebellar infarction caused by posterior inferior cerebellar artery territory occlusion and aimed to call physician’s attention to such life-threatening clinical condition. |
