| The present paper summarizes development of donor search for allotransplantation of haematopoietic stem cell in Lithuania during four years (1999-2003) period. This paper considers the topics of strategy and methods of histocompatibility typing, informed donor consent, determining donor suitability as well as legal and financial issues of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation in Lithuania. Creating a legal and organizational frame of the functioning of Lithuanian Bone Marrow Donor Registry is described. |
