Journal's description The Journal "Biological Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology" is an official Journal of the Lithuanian Society of Biological Psychiatry (LSBP) supported by the Institute of Psychophysiology and Rehabilitation of the Kaunas University of Medicine. The first issue of the Journal was published in December, 1999, and was dedicated to the re-establishing conference of the LSBP. The Journal is bilingual (Lithuanian-English) published twice a year. The Editorial board of the Journal has 16 members, 5 of them are scientists from foreign countries. All articles of the journal are reviewed by the Editorial board and by the experts of certain medical fields. The LSBP is a public voluntary organization. The LSBP unites psychiatrists and other specialists who are interested in biological aspects of etiology, pathogenesis, diagnostics, treatment, prevention and other problems of mental and behavioral disorders. The Mission of the LSBP and the Journal is to spread information and to stimulate research in the field of biological psychiatry and to encourage collaboration between researchers and to form public opinion in the field of biological psychiatry. The original research articles, reviews, case reports, treatment guidelines and practical articles about latest developments in the field of etiology, pathology, genetics, clinical presentation, diagnostics, treatment, prevention and psychopharmacology of mental disorders as well as behavioral and psychosomatic disorders are published in the Journal. The LSBP and the Journal collaborate with the World Federation of the Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP), with the International Neuropsychiatric Association (INA) and with other national and international professional societies as well as with national and international research institutions.
