Journal's Profile |
| Journal's description |
culturally sensitive journal to help further your human services career!
The Journal of Ethnic & Cultural Diversity in Social Work® is dedicated to the examination of multicultural social issues as they relate to social work policy, research, theory, and practice. The journal helps readers develop knowledge and promote understanding of the impact of culture, ethnicity, and class on the individual, group, organization, and community on the delivery of human services.
Current issues and problems demand a forum for the discussion and understanding of the complexity of cultural issues in the health and human service arena. The journal plays a significant role in providing fresh insights and new perspectives to researchers, educators, supervisors, managers, service providers, and practitioners.
The Journal of Ethnic & Cultural Diversity in Social Work® brings a multicultural and international overview to the fields of:
Social Services
Health/Mental Health
Education
Economic Development and Employment
Social Justice
Family, Children, and the Elderly
The journal presents the latest state-of-the-art research and theory on social work issues, practice, and problems related to ethnically diverse populations. Emphasis is placed on empirical research, both quantitative and qualitative; however, theoretical articles that present formulations and models particularly relevant to multicultural populations or literature reviews that synthesize findings with regard to ethnically diverse populations are also considered. The journal's multidisciplinary approach offers content relevant to researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers in the fields of social work/welfare, sociology, psychology, anthropology, psychiatry, education, health sciences, international relations, politics, and criminal justice.
Under the editorship of a leader in social work management and represented by an international advisory board, the Journal of Ethnic & Cultural Diversity in Social Work® includes as regular features book reviews and a commentary section that raise issues for response from readers, identify trends and controversies, address needs for new programs and research, and provide readers with ideas for funding projects and obtaining grants. |
