The journal “Miskininkyste” publishes original scientific papers on forestry, forest ecology, forest genetics, gene conservation, and tree breeding, reforestation and afforestation, forest typology, forest soil science and hydrology, forest economy, forest inventory and management, forest health and protection, phytopatology, entomology, game management, etc. “Miskininkyste” is intended primarily as a media for reporting original research done in Lithuania and in the Baltic region, although reviews on research on topics of interest are also published. Every manuscript is subjected to peer-reviewing by at least two anonymous reviewers appointed by the editorial board.
The uniqueness of this scientific journal is that the titles and abstracts of the papers are always printed in three languages (Lithuanian, Russian and English). While many of the articles are written in Lithuanian, also the papers prepared in English and Russian languages are accepted. This expands the boundaries for the scientists from the Baltic region.
The journal “Miskininkyste” is being published from 1994 continuing the traditions of the "Proceedings of the Lithuanian Forest Research Institute" which have been issued annually in the period from 1956 to 1993.
