First issue of "Packaging" has been published in 1955 - which means the monthly is the oldest Polish magazine dedicated to the packaging industry. Over the years it has gained a number of regular readers, representing all market segments: scientists, technologists, producers, processors, designers and printers, suppliers of machinery, equipment and materials for packaging and labels.
From the very beginning "Packaging" has been associated with the world of science. In the separate part of the magazine readers have access to peer-reviewed and scored scientific articles, whose authors are known experts in their fields - technical university lecturers and researchers working in major research institutions in Poland. Additionally, since March 2013 "Packaging" publishes also special research section "Packaging Spectrum" prepared by the academic staff of COBRO - Packaging Research Institute.
All scientific articles in the magazine are prepared and peer-reviewed in accordance with the guidelines of Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the whole Editorial Board has qualifications set out by the Ministry. All scientific texts include titles and a summaries in English and some part of articles is published fully in English.
In every issue there is also more extensive economic and technological part: publications related to the main theme and constant thematic sections such as: month news, market, technology, digital arts and design or production of packaging.
In January 2011 it have changed not only the layout and format of the letter, but also the editor and publisher (currently the tittle is co-printed commonly by Sigma-NOT and Alfa-Print Sp. Ltd. - publisher of "Poligrafika").
